Business and Book Clubs answer Santa letters

By Raegen Welty
For a fun activity for several FHS students, members of the Business and Book Club had a scavenger hunt. On Dec. 7 the Business and Book Club hosted a scavenger hunt and had their Christmas Party. Members in the club brought in food and had a food contest. The top three winners received $15 in gift certificates for first place, $12 for second place and $10 for third place. They chose certificates from either DQ, Huck’s, Anthony’s, or Julians.
First place for the food contest was Ty Landreth. Second place was Charlee Blackwell. There was a tie for Third place between, Olivia Luzadder and Reaghan Hale.
After the contest, they ate and held a scavenger hunt. They split into teams with 2-3 people in each group. Winners of the scavenger hunt won a gift certificate of their choice.
First place in the scavenger hunt was Sophia Heath, Madison Beckham, and Madison McGee. Second place was Alyssa Schafer, Ashley Jacobs, and Summer Cartright.
For a chance of community service, book club members serve the public. Dec. 11 and 12 the book club members met in the Learning Center right after school for an hour. Members wrote back letters from Santa. They got the idea from the coffee shop Crafty Bean, which had a dropbox with letters from kids to Santa.
On average they answered around 150 letters and had 20-30 club members helping. Santa letters came from all the kindergarten classes and the dropbox at the Crafty Bean.
